Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (A new Operating System)

For the last 1-week I was just confused with 2 medium blogs which one should I write but now I am pretty clear and today we are gonna talk about fuchsia

So, hey there Bharat here let’s get started with New OS from Google called Fuchsia-OS

We know google own 2 operating system

Android, Chrome OS

And if we talk about android it’s something like in 10 people there is 7 own an android device

It can be a Phone it can be a tablet or maybe Android-wear Gadget

And if we talk about Chrome OS it’s mostly available chrome-book and some tablet-like pixel slate

So why fuchsia and what is the purpose of it so without further discussion let’s talk about it

What is Fuchsia? :

It’s a new mobile operating system and it was introduced in 2016 (concept)

It is based on a kernel called Zircon because of the Zircon it can run on

Mobile devices

Laptops 💻

Smartwatches ⌚️

IoT devices 🔌

Smart speakers 🔈

Smart cars 🚗

Etc…

One OS everywhere

But why fuchsia we have android? :

Maybe it can be the direct replacement of android

So, first of all, let’s take a quick overview of kernel

Umm

Computer kernel is the core of the operating system they provide the basic mechanism around which the OS can be build and android’s main problem come from the fact that is based on the Linux kernel which was not originally indented for phone and infect android Itself was built initially for digital cameras and every single device that we use it has different kernel like

Samsung Galaxy S10 uses a different kernel

One plus 6T uses a different kernel

And the reason why different kernel

companies have to make special ROM for the specific model of phone

And we can’t use one ROM for another.

So fuchsia is based on a completely new kernel called Zircon and it has benefits it designed with the smartly connected feature in mind and it much less specific on its code so this can work with the wider range of the devices

And as I said it can run pretty much everywhere one OS for everything

So, it will completely seem less integration with devices

Imagine you are at home you started music it’s playing on your home speaker and then you go out when you go out it will switch from your speaker to your headphone and a car it will switch to your car speakers exactly where you left from your headphone when you get it into the car it will start from the time where you left

And it has more secure than android

And if we talk about android it is not performing well with devices like it not adopting all feature and capability of the devices

And we know we can’t use one update for another but on the other hand, fuchsia can pick all the thing that android lacks

But on fuchsia Google can push updates to any fuchsia devices think every single device are updated with new version and security patch updates

And one another thing fuchsia is written on the flutter Software Development kit (Dart) and we know how fast and smooth flutter it

What if fuchsia will replace to android in next couple of years

If you are an android developer you don’t have to worry about it because Google officially announced that fuchsia will support Android applications

And before they announced It was my motivation to learn flutter but now, I am working on android as I do

UI of fuchsia :

If you want to check the UI of fuchsia you can get the app called armadillo

Armadillo was a shell when it was announced but now, they replaced it with Ermine but it looks the same as an armadillo
